![]() Green Harvest team: Frances Michaels, Jeff Michaels, Miranda, Vanessa Williams, Ebony, Ann Duffy, Mark Chapman, Jenny Clements ABOUT US Green Harvest is a family owned and operated Australian mail order business that has been trading since 1992. It started out simply from our desire to share our passion for organic gardening and to create a livelihood at Crystal Waters Eco-village. Once a year in July we publish the Australian Organic Gardening Resource Guide. It contains 48 pages of organic gardening products and hints, to help you grow nutritious, chemical-free vegetables and fruit. The Guide includes gardening books, high quality tools and unusual seeds but it also contains hard-to-find pest control products to manage pests organically. Many of these items are hard to come by and you would have to search garden centres, hardware stores, bookshops and seed companies and still not find everything you wanted! Why shop with us? We place a strict ethical criterion on product selection and your satisfaction with any purchase is important to us and we are happy to replace, refund or credit when necessary. Products are chosen carefully, after research proves them the best choices available for organic gardeners. Many of our pest products come supplied with detailed information sheets, which we have written to further your understanding of strategies for organic control. Recycling Our commitment to the environment means we re-use boxes and shredded paper when sending out parcels. When you receive your parcel remember that all paper products can be mulched, composted or fed to earthworms. The catalogue uses newsprint, as it has not been bleached. All other stationery is printed on 100% recycled paper. Our garden Home is a one-acre garden where we aim to grow most of our own fruit, vegetables and herbs. Our ‘livestock’ currently consists of Barnevelder chickens and a beehive. A shade house is used for propagating a range of unusual perennial food plants. Plants for seed production and herbaceous perennials are scattered throughout the lot according to their climatic requirements. Education The old philosophy about giving a man a fish and he eats for a day but teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime applies to our philosophical basis. Frances taught permaculture and horticulture for many years, with the aim of giving people the tools to grow healthy organic food. Learning about the cycles of nature and sorting gardening myth from fact still motivates her to this day.
