How to choose a deterrent
Often more than one strategy is needed, with the strategy changing over time, as animals can get used to the deterrent and ‘familiarity breeds contempt’. The aim is ‘behaviour modification’ so to be successful, a strategy must be repeated often enough to retrain every individual animal that is a threat to your garden. A ‘once only’ encounter may not change forever the patterns of behaviour of an individual animal. Starting early enough is critical; once a crop is already being enjoyed it is very difficult to change the behaviour. |
Skedaddle - Dog and Cat Deterrent GranulesSkedaddle contains a unique combination of natural, aromatic oils: citronella oil and eucalyptus oil. The oils are not offensive to humans but are unpleasant to dogs and cats which have a strong sense of smell. When used as directed dogs and cats can be trained away from specific areas such as gardens, lawns and driveways. It is important to use Skedaddle sparingly. Repeat the procedure every 3-4 days until animal behaviour is modified. Convenient ready-to-use shaker pack. Treats up to 50 square metres. Material Safety Data Sheet PR105 |
