Pre-coated Sticky Tree BandsPre-Coated Sticky Tree Bands prevent crawling insects from ascending trees, shrubs, vines and woody plants. The bands are 300mm long and will fit 80mm diameter trees; they can be cut to fit smaller trees or linked together for those with a larger diameter. A foam strip fits the band closely into bark crevices so insects cannot crawl underneath. Each pack contains 6 bands. PG126 PG127 minimum 5 per order |

Pot Plant Sticky TrapsHere's a non-toxic, effective way to trap aphids, whitefly and other pests of indoor pot plants. These butterfly-shaped yellow sticky traps are coated with horticultural glue. Small insect pests are attracted to the yellow colour and stick fast to the non-drying glue. The traps remain effective until the surface area is completely covered. This model of trap is placed at ground soil level and is easily hidden in a pot. Try one of the other yellow traps for mulched garden bed use. Each “butterfly” shaped trap is 100mm at the widest point and 60mm high; attach to the metal stake provided (50mm long and 6mm wide). Pack of 6 sticky traps and 6 stakes. PG125 |

Citrus Suite TrapWith this one nature-mimicking product you can control 3 of the most common citrus pests: Californian Red Scale, Citrus Gall Wasp and Citrus Leaf Miner. It is supplied as a pack of 2 traps + 2 lures. Californian Red Scale, Gall Wasp and Leaf Miner are the main pests which cause distortion of fruit, dropping of leaves and damage to limbs are controlled with this trap. How does the trap work? Traps are open-ended to allow the insects to enter. The pests are attracted to the pheromones and scents from the lures inside the trap. Once inside the pests fly around until exhausted and land onto the sticky walls (a non-drying horticultural glue) of the trap where they are caught. The Gall wasp is attracted into the trap by the specific yellow colour of the trap itself. Is this the best way to deal with these pests? This is a clever, low maintenance, easily achieved, long lasting solution with potentially the best long-term least-toxic results to such a common problem faced by so many Australian farms and gardens. So often people do not know which pest they have or that in fact many can be present at the same time. Please read more about citrus pest and plant management in one of the 2 excellent citrus books we stock or in this article on organic citrus care. The product comes with a brief description of each pest. Where does the trap get placed? For Red Scale and Gall Wasp hang the trap high inside the tree, while for Leaf Miner hang the trap closer to the new shoots on the perimeter of the tree. Traps can be moved as the season gets warmer and your observations of the trunk, leaf and trap itself dictate. How long does the trap last? The trap will last for 6 weeks and then is thrown away. Use the reminder sticker supplied in your diary or set up a computer calendar reminder, for good consistent control throughout the season. Unopened lure remains viable for months if stored in a fridge or freezer. Is the trap working? These pests are very small. Very carefully look for the pests on the inside walls of the trap. They will be only 2-4mm long, white or grey in colour, and quite difficult to see. A small hand lens may be helpful. If you see ants 'farming' aphids, please brush up on our information regarding scale. When to put the trap up? Traps should be in place from early spring growth, prior to bud break, and maintained into mid-summer while the trees are growing and pests are active. How many traps do I need? 1 trap per small tree (<1m), 2 for medium trees (<3m), 4 for very large trees (>3m). For 3 months control; severe infestations and warm climates may need traps in place for longer. Small tree number of trees x 1/tree x 2 Medium tree number of trees x 2/tree x 2 Large tree number of trees x 4/tree x 2 2 traps + 2 lures = 1 pack PB156 PB157 minimum 3 per order |
